I-495 & I-270 Study Newsletter

In July 2018, the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration (MDOT SHA) presented the Preliminary Range of Alternatives at a series of public workshops in Montgomery and Prince George's counties. Since that time, MDOT SHA has performed an initial screening and reduced the Preliminary Range of Alternatives to seven recommended Screened Alternatives. Learn more in our February 2019 Study Newsletter!

In addition to the newsletter, you can view a video that explains, in detail, the alternatives that are being recommended to be dropped from further consideration and explains the screening process for those decisions.

Your Voice Counts and Your Feedback Matters

As we are developing the travel demand solutions, addressing congestion, and trip reliability along I-495 & I-270; your voice counts and your feedback is important.

In addition, to the nearly 600 persons who attended the July Public Workshops, members of the public, the business community, and civic group members are providing valuable comments regarding the preliminary range of alternatives and screening criteria which were presented. We have also received a large response from the second Managed Lanes Public Opinion Survey! All of this information is considered as we move forward with the NEPA study effort.

The second Managed Lanes Public Opinion Survey closed on September 28, 2018. Thank you for your participation!
